MOT's

Your MOT certificate confirms that at the time of the test your vehicle met, as far as can be determined without dismantling, the minimum acceptable environmental and safety standards required by law.
It does not mean that the vehicle is roadworthy for the life of the certificate and is not a substitute for regular maintenance (This is an explanation taken from the government’s own website).
The point about no dismantling is important because, such as brake pads & shoes (quite often) are not visible and cannot be checked for wear. Without an MOT certificate, you will be unable to renew your road tax and in the event of an accident your insurance claim could be affected.

Is my car due?
A car does not require an MOT until it is 3 years old, after that it will require one every 12 months.

I can't find my MOT certificate
No Problem - If we tested it last time then give us a ring and we will be able to tell you when its due.
If we didn't then you can check it by contacting VOSA on 0870 330 044 or by visiting their website.

13 Month MOT!
Did you know you can renew your MOT up to 28 days before it is due without losing any days!

SERVICES

A service is a vehicle inspection that keeps your car in a reliable, safe and fully-functioning condition based on guidelines set out by the vehicle manufacturer. The service schedule will recommend specific checks and replacement parts including a car oil change at certain intervals.

Types of Service include:

Full Car Service:
- Air filter change.
- Fuel filter (diesel) / Spark plugs change (petrol)
- Extensive brake inspection.
- Wheel bearings and shock absorbers inspection.
- Electrical components (e.g. battery, alternator and starter motor) tested.
- Air conditioning system inspection.
- Radiator and coolant hose checked.

Major Car Service:
A major service is one of the most important services that your car will receive, it is essentially a complete overall check of the vehicle. ... Everything included in a full service is in a major car service plus even more in-depth checks, spark plugs changed, brake fluid, suspension and fuel filters.

GENERAL REPAIRS

We carry out many of the general repairs that your vehicle will require. Some of the areas you must check are:
- Check & Replace Your Wiper Blades
- Change Your Oil Regularly
- Rotate Your Tyres & Check Air Pressure
- Check Your Battery’s Charge
- Replace Worn-Down Brake Pads
- Replace Your Air Filter
- Check Hoses & Belts
- Replace Old Spark Plugs

Make sure you pay close attention to these parts and look for signs of wear and tear. A broken timing belt can destroy your entire engine and leave you without a car. Even a small leak in one of your hoses can have catastrophic consequences. It’s a good idea to give a simple visual check of these things every time you change your oil.
